Ebell Chorale Spring Concert
Sunday, May 17, 2026
3:00 PM

Inspired by a line from The Beatles song Blackbird, “you were only waiting for this moment,” this FREE Ebell Chorale Spring Concert reflects on what it means to arrive, not suddenly or triumphantly, but gradually... through waiting, enduring, and the quiet work of holding on, letting go, and beginning again. This program invites us to look both inward and outward, to listen for the sense that something within us is still unfolding, and to recognize that we are not becoming something new, but coming into what has been there all along.

Founded in 1915 shortly before the United States entered WWI, the Ebell Chorale has been making music for more than a century and is one of the longest continuously running treble choirs in the nation. Rooted in The Ebell’s mission of empowering women through arts and education, the Chorale welcomes treble singers from all walks of life and musical backgrounds. The Chorale is currently directed by Dr. Yu Hang Tan.

The Spring Concert is enriched by the presence of the USC SingWellLA choir, a research ensemble exploring the impact of group singing on adults aged 60 and above. Their voices remind us that growth, connection, and renewal are not bound by age, but continue to unfold across a lifetime.
