Join us for a special afternoon honoring playwright Janice Kennedy and her hauntingly beautiful play Shadows Round the Moon. Set in a remote seaside cottage, the play imagines Mary Shelley—haunted by grief, memory, and the ghost of her sister Fanny—as she confronts the tragic events of her life and the origins of Frankenstein.
Written during a Hedgebrook residency and recipient of the “Spirit of Moondance” award, Shadows Round the Moon was workshopped in New York with Kate Burton under the direction of Susan Stroman.
Come for an evening of dramatic readings, conversation, and reflection on creativity, loss, and the legacy of one of literature’s most enduring figures.
