Dates: Saturdays, starting September 20 and running through to November 8

Times: 11am to 1pm

Students ages 18 and up can explore acting through the “Own Your Stage” workshop program, a series of games, activities, lessons, and projects designed to help build confidence and proficiency. Led by Ebell educators, this series of 8 weekly classes covers essential skills such as characterization, scene work, and voice techniques.

Topics will include:

• Projection and Enunciation
• Using the Tools of the Actor (Body & Voice)
• Objectives, Obstacles, and Tactics
• Scene Work
• And More!

NEW THIS SEMESTER: The first hour of class will focus on basic skills, building the tools of the actor, and theatre games. The second hour of class will focus on more specific scene work! Please note, students participating in the second hour of class will need to sign up for the whole course.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

This course is built to be supportive of adults with busy schedules. We understand that adults cannot necessarily commit to a full 8-week course, but may want to still join us for fun! Therefore, we are offering a few different options for registration. If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email or give us a call at 323-939-0126!

Registration Options:

• Daily Class Rate: This ticket is for those that are interested but not able to commit to the entire semester. It will cover the 1st hour of the course only, as the second hour will require people to be committed to attending. Please note, you only need to buy 1 ticket online. We can do in-person payments for others at the beginning of class.
• All Semester - Theatre Games (11am to 12pm): This ticket will cover the entire 8 week course. If you need to miss classes, no problem, but if you know you want to attend most, this is the ticket for you! The first hour of class will be working on the basic skills and some theatre games to build those skills.
• All Semester - Theatre Games & Scene Work (11am to 1pm): This ticket will cover the entire 8 week course and the entire 2 hour class! We ask that you only sign up for this one if you are able to commit to most classes--scene work with a partner requires some dedication. Of course, we understand you may have to miss a few, and that's okay! The class will begin with warm-ups and theatre games then transition to more serious scene work.
