Book Chamber is The Ebell’s monthly virtual book club for members. Together, the group explores a wide range of genres and authors—from contemporary fiction and timeless classics to memoirs and mysteries. Whether you’re a voracious reader or simply looking for a welcoming space to share perspectives, Book Chamber is a wonderful way to connect with fellow members through the joy of reading.
About This Month's Book Selection:
No blood, gore, or guts: this Bradbury classic features trick-or-treating kids as protagonists. In search of a missing friend, they do not visit hell, crypts, or mortuaries, but rather ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome; medieval France and Notre Dame Cathedral; and Day of the Dead in Mexico with a guide named Carapace Clavicle Moundshroud. (How scary can someone named “Carapace Clavicle Moundshroud” be?)
En route the boys (alas, no girls) learn about the origins of Halloween.
