Set in the early 1980s, Atmosphere follows Joan Goodwin, a quietly content astronomy professor, as a NASA ad sends her life into orbit. Joan joins the first wave of women scientists in the space shuttle program, training alongside a magnetic ensemble of pilots and engineers at Houston's Johnson Space Center. Acclaimed author Taylor Jenkins Reid works her signature magic in her newest novel: a richly immersive world, lovably complex characters, and a momentous plot that builds toward a fateful 1984 mission. Come ready to talk – and bring tissues.
