Rising Seniors, Intern This Summer at The Ebell!

Rising high school seniors are invited to apply for a paid summer Programming internship at The Ebell! As part of the Los Angeles County Bloomberg Arts Internship, students will have the opportunity to work alongside a professional team at one of LA's most iconic historic cultural institutions—and leave a lasting impact on the community. Alongside staff, interns will create our first ever Teen TEI Symposium & Showcase exploring the impact of women in Los Angeles.

What They’ll Do: 

  1. Review pre-screened student-submitted projects (art, spoken word, research, and more) to curate the Symposium & Showcase 
  2. Shadow staff and help plan, market, and set up the Symposium & Showcase 
  3. Support the event as it’s happening 
  4. Assist with other Ebell programs and gain a behind-the-scenes look at nonprofit arts work  
  5. Receive college and career readiness support 

Internship Details: 

  1. Interns are paid $27/hour 
  2. Internship runs from June 15th through August 7th 
  3. Interns must live & attend school in SPA 4 (more details below)  
  4. Paid Arts Internship: 3 days per week, in person, at The Ebell of Los Angeles 
  5. Program Days: 2 days per week of engaging workshops, fun activities, and cultural experiences at sites across LA County.  

 

How to Apply: 

Students should submit a brief statement of interest explaining why they would like to participate and how the internship supports their college or career goals. Please send submissions to our Membership & Programs Manager, Amelia Comer (amelia@ebellofla.org), with the subject line: ‘Programming Intern – FULL NAME Application.’ Applicants should also cc a parent or guardian on this email so they can be included in future communications.

A formal résumé is not required to apply; interns will receive support in creating or updating one during the program. However, if you already have a résumé or a list of previous involvements, extracurricular activities, or work experience, please do include it as well.

This internship is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, as part of the Los Angeles County Bloomberg Arts Internship Program.
