Michael Melton championed diversity in opera and passionately advocated for the arts within the LA Opera community. As a key figure in African Americans for LA Opera (AALAO), a chapter of the Opera League, he promoted inclusivity and artistic excellence with tireless dedication.
To honor his legacy, we’re hosting a recital at The Ebell in collaboration with AALAO, featuring the extraordinary soprano Alannah Garnier and pianist Charlie Kim. Their performances will carry forward Michael’s vision, showcasing the beauty and emotion of opera he cherished so deeply.
